Mini Collector freezes on iOS 4.2

I was just contacted by a customer who told me that the app doesn’t work on his 3GS running iOS 4.2.1 As I haven’t upgraded to 4.2 yet myself I was unaware, but a friend of mine could confirm it. It’s the scanning feature that freezes up the app.

Since I’m not exactly a wiz iPhone developer this problem might be outside my abilities to fix. It might also be easy. At least I’ll give it a try. Even if I fix it we still have Apple’s long roundtrip times which means it might be three-four weeks before you users have the fixed version on your iPhones. I’m totally sorry about the inconvenience.

Mini Collector 1.1 is out, yay!

I’m happy to finally be able to say that version 1.1 of Mini Collector is available on App Store. As I’ve said before, the major addition is Game Center support. Compare your collection with each other!

A growing collection

Achivements!

My gamertag on Game Center is CoB PEZ, send a friend request if you wanna compare. (Well, the collection is that of my kids, but anyway).

Other than Game Center I’ve hopefully solved the problem with Mini Collector crashing on iPhone 3G. But I can’t make the 3G scan, you still need a 3G S or iPhone 4 for that (still not sure about the 4th gen Touch).

Mini Collector sort of works on the 3G

Update October 13 2010: Mini Collector 1.1 is now available on App Store. It doesn’t crash. It allows for the user to keep track of her collection of minifigs. But it does not support scanning. Please be aware of that before you go buy this app.

You can now download Mini Collector on AppStore. Just sayn’

Unfortunately I’v learnt that at least one person can’t use the scanning function on iPod Touch 4th gen. So if you have one of those you might want to wait with purchasing the app until I’ve fixed the problem.

Mini Collector soon to hit AppStore

I’m a dad. Two of my kids collect those LEGO Minigures (they share the collection). Everytime they bought a figure they already had they got dissapointed and I had to decide wether to buy another secret bag or let them learn an important lesson. I decided to do something about it and created this iPhone app. Soon to be available on AppStore. Read more about it here.

What's in there?

Great, I get to keep the surprise

Of course I couldn’t have made the app without the work done by the people who collected the barcode information. Learn about this work starting from here.
